Five years of on-air identity for Al Kass Sports Channels
Scope —
Context
Al Kass Sports Channels is Qatar’s flagship sports broadcaster — the home of Arabic-language coverage for UEFA, FIFA, AFC, La Liga, ATP, WTA, and every domestic and regional tournament that matters to the region. The V.Wall stage where Al Kass’s broadcasts are built is ultra-wide — 7568×1548 pixels across seven transmission panels — and it demands a specific kind of editorial discipline: readable at 60m, cinematic in close-up, fast to produce between matches.
Approach
A single typographic spine runs through every tournament package: serif for ceremony (trophy lifts, award announcements), geometric sans for statistics (scorelines, team sheets), monospace for live data (clocks, ticker). Motion is cut to the minimum — one horizontal rule transition, used everywhere — so the work can scale from a FIFA The Best global awards night to a Thursday night La Liga feature without retraining the eye.
Outcome
A working broadcast system that carried UEFA Champions League Finals (Paris 2022, Istanbul 2023, Wembley 2024, Munich 2025), FIFA The Best Football Awards, AFC Champions Elite Finals, 24h Le Mans, ATP World Tour, WTA Tour, UEFA Europa League, Qatar 2024 World Aquatics, and the 2022 World Cup legacy broadcasts across five seasons.
